“Utterly Retarded Legislation,” Just $5 Bucks

If you live in South Carolina, and are advocating, teaching, advising or practicing the duty, necessity or propriety of controlling, conducting, seizing or overthrowing the government of the United States, you are now required, by law, to register with South Carolina’s Secretary of State.

Think I’m kidding?  I’m not.

SUBVERSIVE ACTIVITIES REGISTRATION ACT

At least the South Carolina legislature had the sense to make the filing fee of $5 bucks cheap enough so even the poorest of the poor subversives could afford to register.

No joke: South Carolina now requires ’subversives’ to register
