It’s Not the Missing Link, Just an Aunt from Long Ago

Yesterday, I noted the trumpeting of news that the “missing link” had been found in a post I titled Very Bold Assertion.

Today, the news of the missing link has become, shall I say, more muted, under the following headline.  Early skeleton sheds light on primate evolution.

The much ballyhooed discovery is NOT the missing link, but simply an aunt from long ago.

In an evolutionary sense, the fossil is like an aunt from several generations ago, said Jens Franzen of the Senckenberg Research Institute in Frankfurt, Germany.

The search continues.
