For Ford Motor Company No Evidently Means Yes
Here’s the headline as posted at Breitbart.com: Ford says does it not need short-term loans from bailout.
One could think that Ford Motor Company is being stand up, brushing aside overtures from the state and the state’s reach for the reins of industry, reading that headline. Unfortunately that is not the case, as the very first paragraph of the linked article proves.
Ford Motor Co. said Friday it would not need a short-term loan from the government, but lauded the Bush administration’s decision to extend aid to its cash-strapped competitors and renewed a request for a nine billion dollar line of credit.
In the real world, a line of credit is still a loan.
