Why Johnny Don't Vote
Do you hate being forced, told, to do something you really don’t want to do? I know I do. In fact I despise it. The act of voting is just such forcing, a telling someone to do this or that because I said so.
It’s funny, a year or so ago, I had to ask a friend what the acronym VOPA stood for. What’s really funny, though, is I always understood what it meant.
John Venlet: Do you hate being forced, told, to do something you really don’t want to do? I know I do. In fact I despise it. The act of voting is just such forcing, a telling someone to do this or that because I said so.
How are you being forced to vote?
I mean, if I break into your house does that force you to break into my house (or someone else’s house) later on?
And if I break into your house with guns blazing does that force you to shoot back? Don’t you have “the choice” not to shoot back?
I guess, in a manner of speaking, You are “forced” to do everything you do. It’s just that people don’t whine about being forced to do things that they inherently enjoy.
Who forced you to be an Anarchist Mr. Venlet?
