Scott Brown Giddiness
The giddiness over the Elect Scott Brown for United States Senate, for the State of Massachusetts, seems unbounded, at the moment. In the last twenty-four (24) hours, National Review’s The Corner has put up 18 posts, not including updates, about Brown and Martha Coakley, and Instapundit has put up 9 posts, not including updates.
The main impetous for the excessive giddiness over Scott Brown appears to be over the possibility of his defeating incumbent Coakley, which could then mean the sure defeat of ObamaCare (DeathCare). Yawn.
Need I remind you that voting for either Coakley or Brown will in the end achieve the same result? A battle may be won if Brown is elected; defeating ObamaCare (DeathCare); but the war is still lost because sooner or later Brown will be voting to take something that is not his, your money or your freedom, to redistribute to someone else, in collusion with the rest of the professional jobholders in Washington D.C., no matter what party mantle they currently have strewn about their shoulders, just as Coakley currently does.

How true. And even with respect to Obamacare, I have no illusions that its likely defeat in the event of a Brown win will table the prospect of (further) healthcare takeover for very long. Republicans are just as likely as Democrats to advance the next encroachment, as triumphantly as they scored the Medicare drug benefit under Bush.
So much is presently being made about the American people not wanting Obamacare or, it is implied, any further government tampering with the system at all. But the clumsy development and poor marketing of the Obama takeover plan doesn’t mean that a more skillful approach than Pelosi, Reid et al. can muster won’t put across something just as lethal that a majority of somnambulant citizens will accede to.
At best, a Brown victory could be the snag on the face of the sheer cliff that catches the falling healthcare freight train. Until the Republicans figure out how to take credit for getting it loose.

Too true, Linda, too true.
