Orwell Quote of the Day

“Political language . . . is designed to make lies sound truthful and murder sound respectable, and to give an appearance of solidity to pure wind.”

  1. [W]e have entered the Season of Platitudes - an election campaign.

All issues, principles and definitions vanish during an election

campaign. They dissolve into a fog of rubber terms that can mean

anything to anyone - while the candidates compete for how to be

misunderstood in the greatest number of ways by the greatest number of

    people.

  2. Nice to see Mr. Blair being actively quoted.  Did not think I would ever get here but then again.  I do not read a lot of blogs mainly due to time but also due to font.  Be sure to make it easier for old eyes and growing consciousness.
The recent posts seem to focus a lot upon lying and politicians.  Run of the mill fodder but remember flat ass lying is the essence of humanity.  The empiracle (sp) data lies (?) in its glaring ommission from the BIG TEN (not sports). Without our self delusions (or other peoples-see relgion cat.) we can never run marathons or commit suicide.  Which one to believe todaY?
