Nice Work, If You Can Get It
Spurred on by a post at the blog what if?, titled Case #3,298,119 of What’s Wrong with Our Government, which points to a story in the Suntimes titled Prison barbers make almost $72,000?, I decided to see what information I could dig up about how much State of Michigan employees, those public servants, are making.
Well, barbers employed by the State of Michigan, of which only four (4) are listed, aren’t doing as well as their Illinois counterparts. The maximum salary listed is $42,532.56.
Then I decided to search by departments. Here’s a bit of what I found searching just the History Arts and Libraries department salary information database for the State of Michigan.
Ingham County, Michigan employs one archaeologist who makes $63,245.52 a year. There are a few others making just as much or more. What are they digging into, besides private working individuals’ pockets? Ingham Country also employs a bunch of historians, I stopped counting at 12, who make a minimum of 52K a year. I’d say that’s pretty historic.
The lists of legalized robbery employee payments go on and on, and I’m certain if individuals started digging into where all the money is disappearing to in the various United States of America, a mountain of egregious examples could be accumulated. If you are interested in further exploring where all of the State of Michigan’s forcibly funded salaried employees money is being paid, the Lansing State Journal State of Michigan salary search is the place to start.
Is it any wonder, at all, that the State of Michigan is broke?
