Keep the Government Out of Health Care, or “Don’t Get Sick After June”

I’ve quite recently mentioned the hazards of universal health care, noting the abject failures of the States of Wisconsin and Maine, which were relatively new attempts at this fantasy.

How about a more historic cautioning lesson in the hazards of the government getting involved in rationing health care, which is what Obama and Congress are contemplating currently?  The American Indians, who are known to state “don’t get sick after June,” provide the lesson.

On some reservations, the oft-quoted refrain is “don’t get sick after June,” when the federal dollars run out. It’s a sick joke, and a sad one,...

American Indians have been getting screwed by the U.S. government for years, and not just in health care, but the bitter lesson American Indians have learned about promises from the U.S. government are a cautionary lesson for each and every American individual.
