Just Great

Convoluted justifications for spamming…

So, I recently spent a little dough getting this site updated so I could be protected from spammers.  The upgrade is working, quite well, in regards to comments, at least at this time, but the bastards have been exploiting a weakness in Trackbacks, here, and evidently at a number of other blogs as evidenced here.

If you’re interested in reading the convoluted logic of these devil spawned spammers, and in a shallow review of their methods, read this article/interview.

  1. As per our conversation last night, John, I’d love to get my hands on one of these blithering piles of shit. Yeah, that’s how bad it has gotten; I’m now stooping to physical harm to another individual.

Yeah, physical harm to another person.

    I can almost taste it.

  2. Here’s a link to what Google recommends:

    http://www.google.com/googleblog/2005/01/preventing-comment-spam.html

But I’m not sure that it really prevents traceback spam so much as keeping them from benefiting from it.
