When I was a child, and angry with my parents, from time to time I would threaten to run away.  Whenever I threatened this, my Mum would always say, “If you need help packing, let me know.”

  1. My brother, Michael, threatened to run away from home when he was five years old.  My mother didn’t bother voicing an offer of assistance.  She simply packed him a little overnight bag and set him out on the front porch.

    It was an extremely effective “Check Your Premise, Fool” moment.
