Gentlemen, Place Your Bets
Now that the NCAA tournament is over, which I mentioned in an early post today, not the final game, but an earlier game where much money may have changed hands because of one three-point bucket off the glass, those who have an interest in gambling may want to place bets on the ice. Not hockey, but the break up ice in Alaska. In Nenana, Alaska, they are still accepting bets for the break up of ice on the Tanana River. The jackpot is $300,000.00, and each bet costs you $2.50. You have to guess correctly, to the nearest minute, the break up of the ice which currently blankets the river at a depth of 32 inches, along with 10 inches of snow on top of that.
Here’s a link to a story on the Nenana Classic.
