Freedom Quote of the Day

If you don’t want freedom for people you despise, you don’t want freedom. And if you’re not banding together with the ones you don’t despise, even the ones you think are maybe being a little wrong-headed or silly, you’re missing a great bet for safeguarding your own kind of freedom. Because it’s not a question of who’s right or who’s wrong in the greater freedom movement. They’re all right. And the ones oppressing them are all wrong.

  1. Everyone is wrong-headed or silly once in a while. Well, at least I am; not entirely sure about you. But what I don’t understand and will never understand is why anyone could care less about how other people live their lives?
For example, why in under the heavens would I even care if someone wants a 145.578 ounce soda? I don’t even drink the stuff.  To me it tastes terrible.

  2. Steve, I think we are “in each other’s business” because we are ... In each other’s business.
I don’t like for my children to drink a lot of soda because I pay their dental bill ... And while I’m at it (monitoring their dietary/health choices) let’s see where else ...  Later they can decide on my end of life care.  It’s a mess!
(Really, no soda? How ‘bout red meat?

  3. “The duel between Christianity and atheism is the most important in the world…. the struggle between individualism and collectivism is the same struggle reproduced on another level.” ~ William F. Buckley, Jr.
