Feral Dogs Preferable to Do-gooders
Last night, the lovely Melis and I joined some friends for dinner. As we exited the truck, my eye was caught by a Native American Indian Dog, an eight week old puppy actually, named Tessa. I was immediately enthralled by this little critter, and if you click on that link, you may find yourself drawn to the breed also.
Because I was unfamiliar with this breed, after obtaining the kennel name from Tessa’s humans, I googled it up to check it out more in depth prior to sitting down to dinner, and I read this.
Current proposed legislation Senate Bill 1139
which basically will establish the extinction of the domestic pet in the United States in 30 years or less.
Check out www.pet-law.com
Then go to www.saova.org to find out what you can do to prevent this from being made into law.
Naturally, I went and checked out those sites, because I was unaware of any legislation under consideration which could possibly curtail domestic pet ownership here in America, and I found this compilation of proposed laws (pdf of 10 pgs.). In reading through this documentation, readers will find that the gradual elimination of domestic pet ownership could, indeed, become an actuality through these various propopsed laws at the behest of dogooders such as PETA and HSUS.
I’m sick and tired of dogooder interference, and I would rather live with packs of feral dogs, because feral dogs exhibit more sense.
The truth is that they are, at heart, the very best of the species. Natural selection tends to favor the smartest and quickest of them. When socialized early, they show themselves to be uniquely strong, aware and adaptable.
Even among some who are rescued later in their lives, we often find a kind of gratitude from them. When they come to find themselves free from want, given affection and kindness, they bond to their rescuers in ways that might seem unexpected from an animals who existed previously in such states of suffering at the hands of human beings.
Lemme tell you a little story. In june 2000 I went to the humane society to adopt one of my current dogs, Lady, a Cocker Spaniel that had been dropped off there. Stupidly I told them I had 6 cats and they required all 6 to have current shots at a cost of $300. They told me I had to get her spayed within 30 days upon my vets approval, which I gave to them, but they went ahead and cut her open anyway to verify is she had already been spayed. It took 3 days to adopt her. The paperwork stated they held jurisdiction over her for life and could come and get her for any reason or no reason.
3 days, $400+ and unbelieveable aggravation to get something that someone else threw away.
I’m convinced there is nothing good about any gov’t facility and the most that can be said for any of them is that they provide employment largely for people that would not be employable in the free market.
Now, I live in constant fear that I may have committed a crime by moving across state lines with Lady and circumventing the states hold on her. The ultimate irony would be for SWAT to come out here to steal her but shoot her first to protect themselves. Yes, it sounds ridiculous but never underestimate the ludicrous nature of the state. Read Will Griggs for reference.

Rather than live in fear, Don, simply accept the fact that you are a criminal, as am I. Accepting reality, and the State’s strangling constructed consequences for living in reality, allows one to act in their own self interest. Live free or die.
Posted by John Venlet on 05/26 at 03:36 PMI stay mainly to myself, here in the woods, minding my own business and busying myself with things that interest me. I am trying to maintain a low profile but even here in very rural Brown County the states gnarly fingers intrude. ie., that nasty census drone last week and a month or two ago it was another automatron running for sheriff wanting my *support*. These people believe they have the right to walk right onto my property at their convenience and do as they please, and being nice as can be the whole time while secretly holding contempt for my philosophy if they were only aware of it, and haven’t the slightest idea that people like me exist.
I’m still waiting for the 2nd round of the census machine to make its appearance and when it occurs I’ll be a little more abrupt in how I deal with it. IOW, I am very busy with the full time job of running all the aspects of my only life and no one gets to infringe on it at their whim. I take offense to such things and can be rather offensive in kind.
I look at all people as individuals and ignore all this silliness about *rule of law* and *just doing my job* stuff. If a person wants a part of me they do so as an individual, not as a representative of a *concept* they happen to believe in. It doesn’t work that way. Their concept is theirs and they don’t get to include me in it. They wouldn’t like it if I created a concept and automatically included them in it.
But try to explain something like that to an automatron, go ahead, just try.

Isn’t current Regulatory Czar Cass Sunstein an advocate of this? Didn’t he write a paper saying animals should have the right to sue - of course meaning the HSUS or other groups could sue on their behalf?
How much do you want to bet any elevation of the legal status of pet to human will exclude police who kill a dog as part of their home invasion?
