Cripple the Businesses that Keep America Great
Small businesses, with less than 100 employees, make up a large percentage of businesses here in the United States. With big businesses having been run into the ground due to State interferences over the years, and the gradual nationalization of businesses of all types currently under way here in the United States, the federal government, and state and local governments, are diligently seeking ways to confiscate additional monies in order to turn all Americans into welfare recipients.
Here is the most current eggregious example of the greed rampant around us in government as the United States sinks further and further into socialist ideology.
Outrage brewing over proposed 1,900% beer tax hike
From the article:
The bill’s language defends the tax by arguing alcoholism and “untreated substance abuse” costs the state $4.15 billion in lost earnings as well as more than $8 million for health care and nearly $1 billion in law enforcement-related expenditures. [My emphasis.]
Are they contending that alcoholism and illicit drug use prevent the state from annually collecting $4.15 billion more in taxes than they already do? Because they assume that, not high or hungover, people would generate more income or create more wealth to appropriate?
I can just imagine how very creative are the people who calculated that. I wonder why they don’t offer their assistance or their calculators to the people who know that the tax on the barrel is precisely $49.61, but can’t decide whether the per glass increase will be $1.50 or $0.15.
But I guess the really important thing is to topple the state’s small brewers before they can clear out with all their excess dimes and dollars. All those number things are just details that can be sorted out later. They sure as hell don’t—and can’t—justify the proposed act.
