Choose Wisely, or Be Enslaved
America faces a new culture war.
This is not the culture war of the 1990s. It is not a fight over guns, gays or abortion. Those old battles have been eclipsed by a new struggle between two competing visions of the country’s future. In one, America will continue to be an exceptional nation organized around the principles of free enterprise—limited government, a reliance on entrepreneurship and rewards determined by market forces. In the other, America will move toward European-style statism grounded in expanding bureaucracies, a managed economy and large-scale income redistribution. These visions are not reconcilable. We must choose.
I think the “culture war” is not new. In fact, the culture war referenced by Arthur C. Brooks in his Washington Post piece America’s new culture war: Free enterprise vs. government control, has been ongoing, skirmishing around Americans daily, for over one hundred (100) years. Many Americans have chosen to ignore this fact, because they did not perceive they had been wounded, or personally attacked, yet.
The “war” is daily intensifying, and Americans will have to choose. Choose wisely, or be enslaved.

I don’t agree with the last sentence. While that may be true for a few, most people today have been sufficiently dumbed down by 1) the public school system and 2) have been kept that way by the MSM.
Simply, most people today are lacking the intellectual horsepower necessary to take on the mental requisite to see things the way they really are, preferring instead the silly notions perpetrated by that MSM. Its the lazy way to do it.
Human effort is like water, it seeks the path of least resistance.
So, how do you educate people that refuse to learn?
You can lead an automatron to ideas but you can’t make him think.

In other words, Don, most people are already enslaved, and willing followers of the pied pipers in their many guises.
Posted by John Venlet on 05/26 at 03:28 PMJohn, yes, all of us here in the US are already enslaved to one degree or another. Sadly, most people it seems accept that, or are simply too ignorant to realize it or the ramifications.
For forever it seems my views are exact opposite to most other people except for a select few.
Most people start their world view from the perspective of a slave in chains and when they view the world around them they think things aren’t so bad. If I challenge them they will suggest that I move to China or Iran.
I, however, start my world view from the perspective of complete freedom and see the glaring enslavement that grows with each passing day of my life.
Hardy a minute of every waking hour this is not on my mind and it takes a toll. Essentially, I live in a world full of thugs and snitches and basically everyone is my potential enemy.
Spending a moment or two at your place is like a breath of much needed fresh air John. I hope we get to meet sometime. If you’re ever down here in south central Indiana let me know.
