All Your Banking Data is Compromised, Now

The other day, when I mentioned Scott Brown being just another one of the guys; once again and hardly surprising; voting with the Democrats in the passing of the alleged financial reform bill, I was unaware of the following aspect of the bill, which will allow another atrocious intrusion into individuals’ private lives.

Senate Democrats united to pass a financial regulatory bill that allows the government to collect data on any person operating in financial markets at any level, including the collection of personal transaction records from local banks that list customers’ addresses and ATM receipts.

Private lives are dead.

  1. Has this bill been reconciled with a house versions?  In other words, is it ready for the prez to sign.  I have heard from various sources that when you add the control over the economy this will bring to takeover of the health care sector, the big 3 automakers and all the other takeovers in this administration, the fed.gov will control over 60% of the economy.

If that’s true, the country is done.  We become a socialist republic.

Graybeard, I am uncertain about this, but I’ll probably dig around a bit and see if I can find out definitively.

America has been in the process of becoming a socialist republic for decades, now.

Oh, I’m painfully aware of that.  It’s just that if this becomes law, it ends the transition.  We will be, at best, an over-taxed European-style social democracy.  VAT is next.
