Abortion Thoughts

Keith Burgess-Jackson, the Anal Philosopher, post a few thoughts on abortion under the title “A Puzzle About Abortion." What puzzles me about abortion, is, with all the methods to prevent pregnancy that are available, why don’t individuals use the methods, rather than aborting the consequences of their lackadaisical approach to a romp in the hay.

  1. ...with all the methods to prevent pregnancy that are available...

      Aye.

How ‘bout this for an activist’s bumper sticker:

      "Save The Planet—Pull Out."

  3. The anal philosopher’s argument is dead on. But, in this debate, everyone has always asked the wrong question. The question is not about how to justify abortion, the quesiton is what in the world provides anyone other than the woman in quesiton the right or the standing to decide her values for her?

It pays to note that there is no need at all to speak of rights in situations where everyone holds the same values. The ONLY reason to respect rights is because we all don’t all hold the same values.

As a final point, fetuses hold no values at all.
