Charity: Potential Problems in Something for Nothing

Claire Wolfe posts a story regarding her befriending of a neighbor whom she had performed some charitable actions for, and some problems which resulted from her charity.  Claire’s experience is similar to an experience I myself had with an individual, whom I had employed in performing some yard work around my house, and whom I had loaned some money to when there had been a death in his family so that he could travel to the funeral.

Being charitable is a virtue, but this does not mean one should allow themselves to be taken advantage of when a charitable action has been performed.
