I Am a Remnant Prophet in the Dark
Claire Wolfe links to a Albert Jay Nock essay titled ISAIAH’S JOB.
As the word masses is commonly used, it suggests agglomerations of poor and underprivileged people, laboring people, proletarians. But it means nothing like that; it means simply the majority. The mass-man is one who has neither the force of intellect to apprehend the principles issuing in what we know as the humane life, nor the force of character to adhere to those principles steadily and strictly as laws of conduct; and because such people make up the great, the overwhelming majority of mankind, they are called collectively the masses. The line of differentiation between the masses and the Remnant is set invariably by quality, not by circumstance. The Remnant are those who by force of intellect are able to apprehend these principles, and by force of character are able, at least measurably, to cleave to them. The masses are those who are unable to do either.
I will not expound on Nock’s essay, my words are inadequate. I am a Remnant prophet in the dark.
Now They Fear the People
During the runup to the vote on ObamaCare (DeathCare), when millions of Americans were vociferously denouncing this legislation to their alleged representatives in Congress via phonecalls, letters, blogs, streetcorner sign waving, and published polling results, these alleged representatives responded as if they were completely deaf to Americans, voting to pass ObamaCare (DeathCare), and then gloating about it.
Now that ObamaCare (DeathCare) has been passed, and signed into law, all of a sudden Congressmen and women can hear the quietest murmurings.
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer is warning that some of his Democratic colleagues are being threatened with violence when they go back to their districts…
The Maryland Democrat said more than 10 House Democrats have reported incidents of threats or other forms of harassment about their support of the highly divisive health insurance overhaul vote. Hoyer emphasized that he didn’t have a specific number of threats and that was just an estimate.
Naturally, the more equal pigs of Congress allegedly feeling threatened will receive the best in government force protection care, just as they will being exempted from having to participate in ObamaCare (DeathCare).
Minority Leader John Boehner has chimed in in support of this fellow threatened more equal pigs stating the following.
“I know many Americans are angry over this health care bill, and that Washington Democrats just aren’t listening,” Boehner said. “But, as I’ve said, violence and threats are unacceptable. That’s not the American way. We need to take that anger and channel it into positive change. Call your congressman, go out and register people to vote, go volunteer on a political campaign, make your voice heard — but let’s do it the right way.” (bold by ed.)
Yeah, that calling your Congressman has worked real well for all the little people, John Boehner, and your counsel to round up additional votes and voters for the future, as a pallitive to allegedly threatened violence, is a rather audacious suggestion which would only result in increasing the power Congress is already abusing.
Violence is always ugly and brutal, and most often only initiated by individuals as a last resort. I think the train has stopped at the last resort.
