Typhoon Class Submarine Photos
Great series of photographs of the former USSR’s Typhoon class submarine (there are alot of photos). It is a big boat indeed, but then so are the U.S. Navy’s Ohio class boomers.
Here’s a link to a bit more detailed info on the Typhoon.
The Typhoon was a quiet running boat, but that didn’t stop the U.S. Navy from obtaining their sound signature, or impair the Navy’s ability to stalk them, even more quietly, crazy ivan’s not-with-standing.

ObamaCare (DeathCare) - Americans’ Smoldering Fuse?
Congress is ignoring Americans, they have been for years, decades even, which is problematic. The Obama adminstration’s attempt to force ObamaCare (DeathCare) into law is a festering issue. Millions of individual Americans, the majority actually, are speaking out against ObamaCare (DeathCare), to no avail it seems, which could result in events of a less than peaceful nature. I hope that this does not happen.
With that said, I point to a Karl Denniger piece titled A *Very Serious* Warning To Nancy Pelosi, which should be read in its entirety. Karl ends his piece this way.
But what I pray for this evening, as I complete my day and offer homage to God before retiring, is that your office, and those of your fellow Democrats who are about to violate your sacred oaths willfully, intentionally, and with malice aforethought - is all you lose.

Wait Until the Do-gooders Find Out
How long will it take the do-gooders to invoke child labor laws and put a stop to this abuse?

Fishbowl (4th Amendment) News
On February 25th of this year, I noted that the sanctity of the 4th amendment, the Constitutional amendment which guarantees Americans
The right of the people to be secure in their persons, houses, papers, and effects, against unreasonable searches and seizures, shall not be violated; and no Warrants shall issue but upon probable cause, supported by Oath or affirmation, and particularly describing the place to be searched, and the persons or things to be seized.
was being gutted in a post titled So Much for the Sanctity of Your Home, and the Fourth Amendment.
Today I read the following at The Volokh Conspiracy. Eleventh Circuit Decision Largely Eliminates Fourth Amendment Protection in E-Mail, which was posted by Orin Kerr.
Kerr takes 2,070 some odd words to comment on the question of whether this is just, when, as the Daily Pundit notes, it should only take a couple dozen.
To the common man, it’s simple as shit: Does government interception of a communication without a warrant or consent of either party violate 4th (check yes or no).
Twittering Inanities and Impossibilities
Glenn Reynolds posts and links to the following Twitter bite.
Perhaps taxpayers should “deem” their taxes to be considered paid without actually sending a check this year.
The “deem” reference, of course, refers to the Congress of the United States attempting to pass ObamaCare (DeathCare) without voting on it directly, and in direct opposition to what the majority of Americans desire, that desire being for Congress and Obama to back off and leave them, and the health care industry alone.
But back to that Twitter bite.
The bite, itself, is actually good, meaning it resonates with a large percentage of Americans who would like nothing better than to retain their earnings rather than having them sent off to Washington D.C. to fund the professional jobholders’ whim of the day. The problem is the impossibility of such an action.
The impossibility is due to the U.S. governments retaining Americans’ employers as their kapos and their bagmen, who neatly package up all employees’ federal taxes in one neat package for the State.
The vast majority of Americans have no ability to withhold a check from the U.S. government for alleged taxes owed, which the State fully realizes, just as the State realizes they can implement whatever economic policies, laws, or other restrictions they desire with almost elite impunity.
On Bigotry and Freedom
Claire Wolfe has recently returned from traveling/vacationing in parts unknown, and, after listening to her voicemail, has posted an essay under the heading Bigotry which is well worth reading. Here’s a couple of excerpts. Do you see yourself in Claire’s words anywhere?
Bigotry is prejudice that won’t yield to reason. Bigotry is blindness. In fact, bigotry is choosing blindness over sight. Bigotry is … well, it’s when all rednecks, or all blacks or all whatever are guilty of the actions of a few. Bigotry is when guns are not only scary, but evil. Bigotry is when you not only believe in global warming or the war on terror, but you think that anybody who disagrees with you should be locked up for treason. Bigotry is when you’re an atheist who thinks all Christians are benighted idiots. And bigotry is when you’re a Christian who smugly “knows” that your God will send every one of those atheists screaming into hell while you sit up in heaven, smiling.
And this.
Bottom line: We’re never going to have freedom until we’re ready to treat individuals as individuals, to take each person and thing on its own merits.
Freedom is about individual rights, individual deeds, individual integrity, individual responsibility. It’s not about group identity. Freedom has no room to move when we cling to unjust concepts about others and refuse to let them go.
Read the whole thing.
